Al Davis

Al Davis has more than 20 years’ experience working with individuals and small business owners who need help getting their ventures online. First, as a Hosting Product Manager for several major telcos, he worked behind the scenes delivering the features and functionality everyone wanted. Then, as a web developer himself, he worked with clients to sort through what they really wanted as opposed to what they thought they wanted.

Finally, as a teacher of both introductory and developer-level WordPress classes at Toronto’s George Brown College, he faced the good, bad, and (very!) ugly that is created when businesses leap from website idea to website reality.
Al has been a featured speaker at WordCamps across North America. He is the founder and sole operator of WPTeach.com.

Alex is a developer at Molecularcode Web Design. She is also a regular instructor and mentor at Ladies Learning Code events. After a career shift herself, she enjoys giving back to the communities that helped support her. Aside from developing websites, her passions lie with 3D printing, gaming and enjoying the outdoors.

Anna Takahashi

Anna explore depuis 20 ans la relation fascinante entre le corps et l’esprit à travers la pratique quotidienne des sons et des mouvements conscients. Ils lui ont permis de survivre à son premier WordCamp en 2014, et la soutiennent aujourd’hui dans ses premiers pas d’apprentie codeuse.

Bernard Prince

Stratège Web depuis 2008, mais entrepreneur depuis 1995, Bernard Prince fait aujourd’hui le lien entre les objectifs d’affaires des entreprises et les moyens numériques d’y parvenir. Ayant les certifications Google Adwords et Analytics, il étudie et observe de façon attentive l’évolution du Web, du référencement à l’analyse de performance, ainsi les différents moyens d’interaction numériques qui se développent à grande vitesse. Il a notamment été conférencier aux événements Le Lab de Trois-Rivières, dans différents Startup Weekend et au Colloque Action TI Mauricie. Bernard œuvre depuis 2013 à l’agence de stratégie numérique qu’il a fondé, Quoly.com.

Brian Zerkler

I am a born and bread Montrealer. Freelancer. Contractor. Learner of things. I have been playing with WordPress since 2008(ish) when I created my first site for an online radio station. That site is long gone, but my love for WordPress grew a lot since then. Helping people with their sites is something I truly enjoy. It took a while, but, in 2016, I attended my first WordCamp and see myself at many more in the future!

I am a web professional with 15+ years experience, and nearly a decade of experience building and managing WordPress websites for clients through my freelance business – Varro Creative. Claudel Rheault

Détentrice d’un baccalauréat en communication de l’Université de Montréal et d’une maîtrise — avec mention d’honneur du doyen — en design d’interaction de l’Université Laval, Claudel Rheault s’est distinguée tout au long de ses études. Véritable passionnée d’ergonomie, elle reçoit à la maîtrise la bourse Hydro-Québec en design d’interaction et est, malgré son jeune âge, une conférencière respectée dans le domaine. Au sein de l’agence, elle participe activement à des projets d’envergure comme ceux de Québec en forme, la Banque Nationale et Centraide. (4 ans d’expérience)

Daphnée is a Product Manager at Human Made, an Entreprise scale WordPress Agency and VIP partner with over 50+ remote employees. Her passion for travel made her quickly adopt a location-independent lifestyle, and develop a massive interest in a flexible work culture. Today, she tries hard to inspire others to do the same.

Dara Skolnick

Dara is an independent front-end developer from Toronto. After working as a web developer at a number of places from large organizations to small agencies, she now runs her own one-person shop where she collaborates with awesome designers to code websites (most often using WordPress) for entrepreneurs, creatives, and big-hearted small businesses.

David Moore

My name is David Moore, I’m from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and I have been working in WordPress eCommerce for the past 9 years. I am a serial entrepreneur, I’ve been in business for myself since age 16; I’ve been successful in sales since age 12, and I started learning to code at age 10. My very diverse background includes working in the Music & Entertainment, Housing, and Specialty Beverage Industries.

Dwayne McDaniel

I have been working in tech and open source sales since 2005.

I knew as soon as I started working with Java middleware developers I never wanted to work outside of open source ever again. I first started building in Drupal and WordPress when I needed to build projects for the San Francisco Improv scene. I fell in the love the community of developers and then found my position at Pantheon at the end of 2013.
As a Community and Agency Success Manager I have had the privilege of presenting at MidCamp (Drupal), WordCamp Milwaukee, WordCamp Baltimore, Drupal Northern Lights (Iceland), Stanford DrupalCamp and other conferences.

Outside of tech I love producing and performing improv theater. I also love comic books and karaoke!!!

Jennifer Doré Dallas

Jennifer Doré Dallas est une « corporate dropout » devenue blogueuse voyage professionnelle à Moi, mes souliers et gestionnaire de communauté pour des clients de divers domaines. Passionnée des technologies de l’information et du monde nébuleux des blogues, elle navigue et vulgarise l’interface WordPress depuis plusieurs années.

Jer Clarke

Jer is an earthling web developer from the Outaouais. Jer builds the international citizen media website Global Voices with WordPress and loves everything.

Jer was a founding organizer of WordCamp Montreal in 2009 and has spoken at WordCamps in San Francisco, New York, Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa.

Jonathan Perlman

Jonathan Perlman is an experienced web developer and teacher that works for Dawson College in Montreal, Quebec. He builds custom web solutions for the students, faculty and staff. Recently he’s been leveraging WordPress more and more to do the heavy lifting while focusing on the needs of the institution with custom themes and plugins. Some of his sites have been built for a select few whereas others are visited by 12,000+ applicants. Jonathan is also an instructor for Dawson’s Centre for Training and Development specializing in web technologies such as HTML & CSS, PHP and WordPress.

Josh Pollock

Josh is a WordPress developer and educator. He is Founder/ Lead Developer/ Space Astronaut Grade 3 for Caldera Labs, makers of awesome WordPress tools including Caldera Forms — a drag and drop, responsive WordPress form builder.

Also, he is a WordPress core contributor, the author of two books about WordPress development and a member of The WPCrowd.

Karl Hudson Phillips

Karl is an accredited multi-disciplinary designer/developer, project manager, intrepid traveler, and voracious reader. He spends his days crafting experiences and interfaces as an independent contractor. In his spare time, he serves as the program curator for three events geared at making current and emerging industry trends and practices readily available to the web design, marketing, application-development, and creative communities. These events include Refresh Charleston, Revolve Conference, and Syntax Code & Craft Convention.

Kathryn Presner

Montrealer Kathryn Presner thrives on helping people get the most out of WordPress. After a career designing and building websites for clients, she joined Automattic as a Happiness Engineer in 2012. She’s currently Theme Whisperer on the Theme Team, where she helps folks with customization, configuration, and troubleshooting. She enjoys spreading her passion for WordPress and encouraging new public speakers at WordCamps, Girl Geeks, Ladies Learning Code, and other grassroots events. Non-WordPress obsessions include vintage Pyrex mixing bowls and growing garlic.

Kaylynne Johnson

Kaylynne Johnson conçoit des sites WordPress et habite au bord de la rivière, en Beauce. Elle est également graphiste et possède un compte Pinterest bien garni. Ex-enseignante au primaire (elle fait partie du 25% des enseignants qui délaissent l’enseignement au cours des 5 premières années de leur pratique) elle recycle son baccalauréat en faisant de la formation et du coaching WordPress. En juin 2016, elle délaisse son emploi salarié de 9 à 5 pour vivre le rêve du travailleur autonome et travailler de 7 à 10 #liberté Elle a un excellent sens de l’adaptation et aime relever des défis. Lisa Ghisolf

Lisa Ghisolf is Gizmo Creative Factory, with 20 years in print, web & email design, and 14 years in business. She’s worked with big and small companies, publications and organizations alike, creating print and digital for Kraft, the National Retail Foundation, Bridgestone, the National Safety Council & many others. Aside from putting out fires, she has designed and built robust WordPress sites since 2008, starting nostalgically with HTML back in 1996. Lisa also offers training and maintenance and likes to work as a technology and design partner to her clients.

Lucas Cherkewski

I’m a designer and developer who has worked professionally with WordPress and other platforms for seven years, for a variety of clients. In addition to client work, I follow and contribute to open source civic design efforts, working to improve the relationship between citizens and their governments. I do my best to think deeply about my work; I bring a principled approach to everything I do.

Max Kovalenkov

Max has been tinkering with web sites since 1998; his first blog was running on WordPress 2.0 – in 2006. He started professionally working with the platform about six years ago, after having moved to Montréal from Ottawa (and having never looked back). Having freelanced around for 3 years, he is now contributing to the front-end web at a large educational publisher.

I’ve been programming for 17 years, and by far my favourite is websites. I love everything about them, from the «boring» planning stages and framework design to the finessing of the layout to get it just right. I’ve spoken at WordCamps in Toronto and Ottawa, am a core contributor, and am a member of the WordPress documentation team. I’m an entrepreneur at heart, and I run my WordPress development business (and my dogs Sophie and Lucy) from my home in Ottawa.

Stéphane D’Astous

Je propose désormais WordPress à tout mes clients à cause de sa popularité, sa facilité d’utilisation et ses personnalisations évoluées. J’ai fait face à une problématique majeure au cours de la dernière année: La gestion de plusieurs installation indépendante de WordPress. La fonctionnalité Multi-site de WordPress me semblait insuffisante, j’ai donc penché vers des installations indépendantes et j’explique comment relier facilement toutes les installations entre elles.

Féministe engagée et rédactrice/blogueuse dans mes temps libres, j’ai fondé la plateforme Aime Ta Marque pour supporter l’ambition féminine en offrant aux femmes de carrière et aux entrepreneures les outils de communication nécessaires pour raconter leur histoire à travers une marque personnelle puissante et authentique.

Valérie Auclair

Romancière, blogueuse, rédactrice et correctrice, Valérie a l’écriture dans le sang depuis son plus jeune âge. Armée d’un baccalauréat en études littéraires, d’une maîtrise en sciences de l’information et d’un certificat de rédaction professionnelle, elle compte trois romans et deux nouvelles à son actif, en plus de rédiger deux blogues et de collaborer à d’autres. Son entreprise, Les Mots clairs, vise à permettre aux blogueurs francophones du Québec d’offrir leur contenu dans un français corrigé et révisé, de façon simple et conviviale.

Yannick Lefebvre

Yannick Lefebvre is a plugin developer who has published eight projects to the official WordPress repository to this day. He is also the author of the WordPress Plugin Development Cookbook, Second Edition, published by Packt Publishing. His first creation, Link Library, has been used on thousands of sites around the world. With a background in Computer Science and working for CM Labs Simulations — a company providing software tools and simulators for vehicle and heavy equipment simulation — he started writing plugins for his own WordPress site in 2004 and quickly started sharing his creations with the community.
